Queen in Melbourne - 26 January 1974.

One day in 1973, Queen got invited to play at the Sunbury Pop Festival in Sunbury, Australia which was going on in January 1974. The Sunbury Pop Festival was like Australia's Woodstock. The festival took place from 25 January 1974 - 28 January 1974. Australians were pretty skeptical of Queen since they were from London, England. They never had a band from a different country before. Once 27 January 1974 rolled around, Queen were getting their stuff out and some of the audience started calling them snobs since they had their own equipment. A local DJ named Jim Keays was the MC. After Queen finished getting the equipment, the DJ gave them a somewhat friendly introduction:

"Well, we've got another load of limey bastards tonight. They're probably going to be useless, but let's give them something to think about!"

The DJ then exposed his buttocks to the crowd and left. 45 minutes into the concert, the bothersome DJ comes out and screams:

"D'you want anymore from these pommie bastards, or do ya want an Aussie rock band?"

The crowd cheer and afterwards, began chanting:

"go back to Pommyland, ya pooftahs!"

Freddie gets enraged by the DJ's irritating attitude aand prophetically screached:

"When we come back to Australia, Queen will be the biggest band in the world!"

By 1979, the band became the biggest rock band in the world and Australia was proven wrong. VERY WRONG.
